About

After years of writing rivetting papers on politics, labor relations, equality issues, management theory, emotional intelligence and information science, Karen Annanina suddenly decided to write about Britney Spears instead. Applying her customary academic approach, she soon became known as one of the internet’s deepest, most forensic Britney writers. “I’m not really a fan as normally understood,” she says. “More an observer, analyst and persistent defender of damsels in distress! My mission here is to challenge the malicious rumors, gossip and media comment about Britney Spears.”

At the same time, Karen believes that the music of Britney Spears is interesting, distinctive, influential and fully worthy of study and analysis, so she has embarked on the lengthy project of attempting to write “In Depth” reviews of all Britney’s works. The project will probably never be completed, but it gives fans something to read during Britney’s quiet times!

Hi there!

I’m a huge Britney fan and I found the article about “The magic and mystery of Britney’s voice” a very interesting read. Would you mind telling me from what source (book, article link, etc) you got all that information about the “naughty angel” from? I want to read more about it.

Those were my own observations and analysis. I didn’t get it from anywhere else!

Karen, Karen, Karen! I’m beyond words, right now…just so SO proud of you for keeping the dream and vision alive. Wonderful content, great site, I’m thrilled. We’ve much to discuss about the past, oh, year or two. Life spun out of control a bit, but we’ll discuss that. Please get in touch! If you don’t see my e-mail address on this post, let me know where I can contact you. 🙂

I sent you an e-mail to GMail. I’d love to hear from you! 🙂

Hey, I am a third year tudent at Central Saint Martins in London, I am writing my dissertation about Lindsay Lohans troubled life. I was wondering if I could talk to you in depth and bounce some ideas off you? Generally just about damsels in distress in the celebrity culture.

Best.

Sorry it’s taken me so long to notice your request. I’ll e-mail you asap. Apologies again!

Oh you know how you are one of my true fellow Britney fans who love her the way I do. You helped me make sense of my feelings for her and this is my post to remind you of this fact. Bless your sanity

Just noticed your new site. Well done for keeping up the in-depth articles! I just went to B’s concert this week and fell in love all over again. Will check in to your site regularly and maybe add some comments once in a while though I am nowhere near as knowledgeable on the subject as you are <3

Thanks for your kind words! It’s so good to hear from you again. xoxo

Have you guys ever thought about this unique quality to Britney’s music: Some of the elements in certain tracks are spooky. The most recent examples are Danja’s work as well as “Circus.” What’s your take on this?

I have a Britney Spears blog on Piczo and I hope y’all enjoy it. I love Britney Spears and what she does so this blog is my way of expressing my love!
